The Riftwar world of Midkemia is the setting for this large series. The first sub-series begins the whole cycle with Magician. The Riftwar Saga is the place to start.

There is also a short story, “Watchfire”, co-written with Janny Wurts, occuring in the world of Kelewan. It can be found in Flights: Extreme Visions of Fantasy.
